Europe’s culture and commerce are multi-layered and multifacetted.
This presents both an opportunity and a challenge, in particular for young
people.
The educational project connect aims to actively and successfully involve
employees within the European commercial zone in establishing trade relations.
Curiosity will be fostered, and fears will be allayed, in particular concerning
relations between west and east European nations.
The training and ongoing education of apprentices, trainees and trainers,
particularly those involved in business, will be expanded to encompass the
added dimensions of cross-cultural competence and specialist expertise with
a pan-European outlook included in the syllabus.
Young people are in the midst of a learning process. For their future
employment prospects and career aspirations geared towards European integration,
factors such as personal mobility will play an increasingly important role.
Intercultural competence with a pan-European awareness will facilitate the
development of such attitudes and the acquisition of these skills will be
integrated into their vocational training.
